Sign Language Class
Have you ever wanted to learn sign language but don’t know where to start? This fall season our JFC Deaf Ministries at Jackson Friends Church Small Group Ministries on Wednesday nights (Intermediate Class) and on Thursday nights (Beginners class). Both nights are at 6:45 pm – 7:45 pm. Wednesday’s night classes will begin on Sept 20 and Thursday night classes will begin on Sept 28! We will be learning ABC’s, basic sign language, fun games, songs and activities to learn sign language! SIGN ( Signing In God’s Name) Choir
S.I.G.N. (Signing In God’s Name) Ministry was founded in January 2006 under the direction of Rebekah Cole. Our purpose for this ministry was to teach hearing individuals to communicate the gospel with the Deaf and Hard of hearing individuals. Through this we decided to join the efforts of hearing, Deaf and Hard of hearing to spread the word of God through sign language. The mission of Signing In God’s Name is to reach people through song, sign, and testimony with the love of God, and salvation through His son, Jesus Christ. We desire to build relationships with people in the Deaf community, and in all venues we perform in.
May we not only sign our songs, but share our lives in Christ with all those people God brings into our path. We believe it is a privilege and an honor to sign in God’s name. We have been called to a purpose and are faithful to complete it through the power of the Holy Spirit. So, in August 2006, S.I.G.N. Ministry expanded their group and formed a sign language choir. We have been traveling to area churches and wherever God may lead us to reveal a visual representation of the Gospel through the Hands of SIGN! We give God the praise for all He has done and will be doing!
