Practices: THURSDAY EVENINGS at Jackson Friends Church starting December 1st
Cost of registration: $85, and it is $17 for a jersey for anyone that doesn’t have one from last season.
Jackson Friends Church Middle School Coed Basketball League is for grades 7th and 8th girls and boys. The league is recreational and will focus on developing youths’ basketball skills, teaching good practice techniques, and developing interpersonal and teamwork skills. Each game will feature a half time devotion/prayer with the players. We want to make sure participants have an enjoyable experience with the game, learn about Jesus, and increase their basketball skills! Jackson Friends Sports Leagues give equal playing time for all kids!
Practices will be once a week on THURSDAY EVENINGS at Jackson Friends Church starting December 1st. There MAY be one other practice night available at Jackson Friends OR a close nearby facility (TBD). There will be a total of 11 practices and 9 games. There will be ONE Saturday practice on Saturday, December 3rd, to help the teams get three practices before the first game. Games in December will be on December 10th and 17th. Games will start back up January 7th and continue through February 18th to complete the regular season. Games will be played on Saturday late afternoon or evenings. There may be some games at The Rock in Canal Fulton, but the league size will determine if some games are played there. The top eight teams at the end of the regular season will make the playoff bracket. Teams that fall outside the top eight will play in a consolation game (so all teams will get at least 10 games) OR we may do a play in game for seeds 9 and below (TBA). Playoff first round games will be at Jackson Friends and will be played on Thursday evening on February 23rd (consolation games will also be at JFC on a night TBA). Playoffs should finish by Saturday, March 4th.
