JFC/ Larry Taylor Summer Basketball Camps

“Basketball taught the way Champions play”

Register HERE!

The Larry Taylor Fundamental/Competition Basketball Camps will be for kids K-8th grades for all skill levels. There will be four offerings per age group and each camp will build off the next. Kids will learn and develop fundamental skills, while progressing into competitive games with each other. ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME and when we train in competitive games, kids will be split into fair teams to develop and refine real game skills! Sessions are $20 individually or $60 total if you sign up for all four sessions together!

Limit 24 kids per session.

Kids will play in games together in some sessions. If you are not comfortable with this, do not sign up for these sessions.

We now have evening sessions! The dates will be on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings (August 12, 15, 19 and 22). Kids will receive a JFC “basketball themed” beach ball with their registration.

Offerings will be as follows:

Wednesday, August 12th: K-3rd Grade, 6:00 – 7:00 PM 4th – 8th Grade, 7:15 – 8:15 PM

Saturday, August 15th: K-3rd Grade, 10:00 – 11:00 AM 4th – 8th Grade, 11:15 AM – 12: 15 PM

Wednesday, August 19th: K-3rd Grade, 6:00 – 7:00 PM 4th – 8th Grade, 7:15 – 8:15 PM

Saturday, August 22nd: K-3rd Grade, 10:00 – 11:00 AM 4th – 8th Grade, 11:15 AM – 12: 15 PM

A MAXIMUM of 24 registrants will be allowed per camp. This will allow for us to have no more than four kids per basket, and spread out while practicing drills that are not in direct competition. There will be competition/games between kids during some parts of the sessions, so please be aware of that.

Masks will be OPTIONAL for kids when in the gym. We understand that it can be very difficult to play sports while wearing a mask, so it will not be required, but kids may wear them. When checking in we will ask for kids and parents to wear masks. But once checked it, kids may remove masks and head to the gym. We still prefer parents to drop off and pick up kids only, but we will allow parents to stay IF you wear a mask inside the gym. Due to our governors recommendations, any parents staying to watch must wear a mask inside the gym. But again, drop off and pick up is preferred.

Coach Larry Taylor and JFC Sports & Rec. Director Joel Bankert will be leading the camp, along with a few NHS volunteers from Jackson High School. Joel or a volunteer will be checking kids in, with a mask on, as it is close range. Temperatures will be taken at check in. When instructing kids, coaches will do there best keep distance from the kids at the baskets. Coaches and volunteers will have masks on.

15 minute cleaning periods will take place between all sessions, so that we can sanitize the basketballs and any other equipment we need to.- Bathrooms will be open, BUT we strongly encourage everyone to use their restroom at home before coming, to minimize the number of kids using the restroom. Restrooms will be sanitized between every session.

Hand sanitizer stations will be set up in the gym and at the entrance/ check-in.

We will be checking every participant’s temperature when they enter the building, with a contact-less forehead thermometer. If your child is running a fever they will NOT be allowed to participate.

IF YOU CHILD IS SICK, PLEASE KEEP THEM HOME. Now more than ever, we need to stay home when we are sick. Proportional refunds will be given to any participant missing a day because of illness. Don’t risk it!

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you soon!
