This is our FIRST summer of volleyball camp here at Jackson Friends Church. We are partnering with Jackson High School volleyball coach, Mary Kate Agona and her team, to put on a fantastic two-day volleyball camp here at Jackson Friends Church.
This volleyball camp will run on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 27th and 28th, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM each day! The cost for the two day camp will be $50 and will include a snack and drink after the second (last) day of camp. This will be open to be girls and boys, from grades (JUST FINISHED) 3rd through 8th. We will host both camp days at Jackson Friends Church.
This camp will focus on FUNdamentals of volleyball. Athletes will learn the basic foundational skills for passing, setting, serving and attacking. In addition, athletes will get the opportunity to compete in games for skills and in team play. We will split up the participants into two groups, 3rd – 5th grade and 6th – 8th grade.
Coach Mary Kate Agona is the head volleyball coach for Jackson High School. She will be entering her third season as head coach and her tenth season with the program. The last two seasons, the varsity team has finished in the Elite Eight for Division One volleyball in the state of Ohio. Agona also coached at Thiel College in Pennsylvania as an assistant women’s volleyball coach for two seasons. She resides in Jackson Township with her husband, Evan, and her two children, Aubree and Easton.
We hope that we can build some momentum from volleyball camp to develop into a youth volleyball league in the future, or at least more opportunities for camps/clinics.
